Privacy
How the Maritimum app and website handle your data.
The app
- Your favourites and settings are stored only on your device. There are no accounts.
- If you allow it, your location is sent to our server only to find the nearest beaches. It is not stored or shared.
- On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, the short summary on a beach page is written on your device by Apple’s model from the forecast shown. Nothing is sent anywhere to write it.
- Siri, Shortcuts and Spotlight get beach names and conditions from the app on your device. What you ask Siri is handled by Apple under its own privacy policy.
- We count anonymous daily totals (how many times each beach is viewed, a widget refreshes, a search is made or an idea in “What should we build next?” gets a vote, by platform and language) to improve the app. These counts contain no identifier, IP address or search text.
- The app shows no ads and does not track you across other apps or websites.
The website
- The website counts page views the same anonymous way, without cookies.
- The website also loads Google Tag Manager, which can load Google’s measurement tools and set cookies. Google processes that data under its own privacy policy.
